I am a Doctor of Oriental Medicine/Acupuncturist, a mother, a health nut and a woman filled with passion to share Natural Medicine. I fell in love with Chinese and natural medicine because it allows me to treat a person as a whole, versus just treating a disease or symptom. Natural Medicine doesn’t separate the mind, body and spirit; To treat one, you must treat all.
I think I always had an interested in fitness, nutrition and health from a young age thanks to my mom. She may not know it but I remember doing Richard Simmons, Sweatin’ to the Oldies workout videos in our living room. Using soup cans as weights and when we were done always making a healthy smoothie. Guess that is what probably started my love for exercise, fitness and Nutrition.
I wish I had some great story about how I had a great experience with Acupuncture, Herbs or Natural Medicine and that is what led me to a more natural career, but I really don’t. I knew I always wanted to work in healthcare from a young age but as I went to college I just thought I was destined to going to Med school and become a doctor or maybe Physician Assistant. Instead, somewhere along the way I decided I would rather teach people how to stay healthy, or use natural remedies to reverse health conditions.
I love being a natural healer but I also love teaching. Nothing is more rewarding than helping someone start living a natural and healthy lifestyle. Teaching people that there are natural options to their health concerns than just pharmaceuticals and surgeries.
For those of you interested in my educational background, here it is. I graduated from Bastyr University, with a Masters degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. I’m licensed by the State of Nevada to practice Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and Nationally Board Certified via the NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine). I also hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Fitness from Central Michigan University. I currently see patients in my private practice, True Health Acupuncture in the Las Vegas Area and am a Professor at Wongu University of Oriental Medicine.
I look forward to working with you!
